Strange comments … I saw the musical the year it opened in London, and thought it was great. Each to their own, I guess!

I read the book around 1961. One of the English teachers at my high school had a copy of "Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats in her classroom. Making a musical from it is, in the abstract, a great idea. The product that came out of the Lloyd-Webber factory was a disservice to Eliot.
