The problem of time travel and being kept on the Earth or any planet as it rotates around its sun. A Clark Ashton Smith SF short story from the 1930’s addressed it. So their time travel machine was a space ship in that when it activated the Earth moved away from them and over the eons they landed on several planets that arrived at the same space they were in.

Time is created by mass, so the time vortex follows the nearest mass — in this case, the Earth. If you don’t believe this, ask Dr. Einstein.

Try going forward in time a couple of hundred billion years. The universe will have done a full rotation by then so you should be safe.
