Same old story "Some of my best friends are enemies" Their friendship began inauspiciously. (Man: Wow! I've always wanted to tell you how much I love your work!) (Woman: I'm busy here.) But her opinion of him changed after she discovered who he was. (Woman: I had no idea he was "someone" I'm gonna say hi.) The two colleagues talked everyday. They traded confidences: they even took vacations together. (Woman: I used to date him- he was a lousy lay.) (Man: He must have had some good traits.) Every now and then, she'd commit some act of treachery... (Man: You called my work "lame" in print!) (Woman: I was being sarcastic they must have left the quotes off.) But he was too loyal to get a clue. (Man 2: I know she's you pal but her work sucks.) (Man: You're so wrong! It's so literate and interesting!) He thought that she needed him all the more because she had no friends. (Man: I'm moving away-after all, I don't have any friends here to keep me.) One day she hurt him so badly that he learned why she'd never kept her friends in the past. (Man 2: She tells everyone she meets that you're scum. Wake up, dude!) Even after all that, he owed her for a valuable lesson. (Man: No matter how hard you try, you can't turn a crone into a crow.
