At the special non-extant congressional committee on increasing income inequality. The latest statistics show that 6 guys earn as much as all other Americans combined. You, Geoff Harragan, are one of those 6 guys. Do you really think it's fair, or smart, to let you hog all the nation's wealth while the rest of us work like dogs for less and less? Of course not. Huge disparities of wealth reduce the incentive to work hard, justify resentment of those who do, and risk turning us into a third-world dump. My concentrated riches are socioeconomic poison! On the other hand, I have more money to invest in my favorite legislators. Besides, cashing just one check is so much easier than toadying up to regular people!
