Todays strip and comments had me laughing. Sorry not to have posted yesterday. I got in trouble at the hospital. I was told if I couldnt follow the rules, I would be banned from ICU. So, after seeing Linda and taking her real coffee, I had to take the laptop home. She is expected to move from ICU tomorrow, hopefully. I had some kind of tummy upset and really felt awful yesterday. It may have been that snotty little nurse talking to me like a 3 year old, but may have been something you pick up when you are in a hospital setting. I am 64 years old and havent been talked to like she did ever in my life. My mother and father were reasonable people and expected their children to be as well. If we were to act out, the embarrassment of my parents would have struck our hearts and made us ashamed of ourselves. I treated my children the same, and they turned out well.Queen of America, I hope your kitties get better soon and that you dont have to clean up after them as much. I know what a chore that is. Eldo, Linda told me to tell you to never stop your redoux’s. They are artistic and funny as well.Linda thinks her name is Beth, a lady with Lyme disease, and she wants to know how she is doing, and to tell her that she has her in her thoughts and prayers. I have an appointment and need to go but I will try to post again tomorrow with some funnies. Have a great day everyone and thank you again for all the healing energy and caring you are sending Lindas way.
Ruth, so good to hear from you! And yes, *Beth is the one with lyme disease. And you must be a pistol, young lady! Getting in trouble and scolded by a little “whipper snapper” nurse! Geez!
(Personally, I’m sure that laptop did Linda a lot of good. It makes her happy, that is important in healing, they say.)
Re: RuthWhew, I log on to TC as soon as I wake up, hoping for news, and today it is good news. Why do hospital nurses think they are keepers of a kingdom? I agree with Dry, laughter is the best medicine!

ON: MERELY, EH?
10:10: Suspicious people were reportedly doing something with flashlights by the side of North 5th Street in Custer. A deputy checked and found that the people were not suspicious, but merely Canadian.
Hi all, I have a really sad cat issue. There was a feral kitty from the pasture behind our house and I tamed her. She had 6 kittens and then someone shot her and broke her leg. I took her to the vet, had her leg checked and had her spayed. She would always wait for me by the back door to feed her. She was getting some use back in her leg and seemed to be doing well. One day last week there was no kitty by the door. She is gone and my heart is broken because she was so sweet but also because there are 6 little kittens that have no mother. They are probably a month and 1/2 old. They are all extremely wild and hide under the storage building. We no longer live at that house and are trying to sell it. I’ve been going to feed them 2 times a day. Would love for them to have good homes but there is no way to catch them. If you have any ideas on what to do, please let me know. Thanks! Feel better Linda, and get out of ICU soon!
Well, all I can say is, spend, spend spend & good luck to the silly card company trying to recoup their losses! Good luck Ruth & Linda, hope that mean nurse gets her comuppance!
Great idea, Happy – just print the pages off. Much easier to sneak them in that way! I agree, nothing like something cheerful to promote healing. Thanks again for the updates, Ruth, and look after yourself as well.
Ruth – thank you so much for the update – was worried when we didn’t hear from you yesterday. I’d never been talked to that way either until I worked in retail. There are some customers who’s hobby is to be horrid to retail people. I tried to be nice to everyone but those people I just walked away from.
pcoli made a good point (on “Andy Capp”) that WiFi could interfere with the delicate electronics in the ICU which would make the laptop ban rather less draconian.
Beth good to hear from you. I HOPE THINGS GET BETTER FOR YOU, and I hope that all that heavy lifting was just a today thing, and NOT a constant. I hope you have some help for all that stuff! TAKE CARE!
You are absolutely right, Eldo. Worth every bit of time and effort. Nothing would make me happier than for all 6 of those precious babies to have a good home.
