I had a dog who thought skunks were cats. He liked to chase them. He got “skunked” four times in his lifetime, the last time was just months before he crossed over the rainbow bridge. We wasted lots of tomato juice on him. I wish we had known about the peroxide=, baking soda, and detergent method. It was on an episode of Mythbusters in 2004 and it is absolutely the best method for getting rid of skunk odor.

I put a cat video in my (Bob Wharton) timeline on Facebook for those of you who can see it. Unfortunately, my sources only yielded four pictures today which I will post both on the Ten Cats Fan Club page on Facebook and on Photobucket.
I swear some of the little birds around here have a death wish. For the third time I’ve had to rescue one from inside the back deck even though there’s no reason for them to come on the deck. Of course Dean would be happier if I let him catch the birdies but that’s not allowed. I’m going to have to figure out a way to block the few open gaps in the lattice
Happy Bob-Day!! Thank you for adding to the fun here at Ten Cats!!!! “People who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from their own” (J. Barrie)
Bbear: BTW I’ve been having grouch days too, Day 5 of being snowed in. Oh we could chain up and drive (carefully) off the Hill, but Dale doesn’t want to bother. ARRRGH
Had an interesting start to the day: woke up at 3.30am with an irritated left eye. Managed to sleep a bit, but when I woke up it was worse. Felt like something was in it, but couldn’t find anything. Chris took me to the Eye Hospital here in Birmingham and I was seen very quickly and a large piece of what the doctor described as ‘fluff’ was removed from my eyelid. My cornea got scratched so now I’m on antibiotic ointment and drops. It’s getting better. I had a short nap this afternoon, and Big Man and Bucky stayed with me the entire time!
Decided to walk my pooch before it got dark…as I glanced out front window I saw a tiny bird (sparrow) flapping like mad on my bird feeder. It had gotten one leg wedged and was hanging upside down. We went outside and I couldn’t free the bird…a man walked by and I asked him to help…he had to use all his strength to pry two steel bars open just enough for me to lift the tiny leg up and free the little guy….who flew off before I had a chance to check it out. Turns out the man was a fellow dog walker I was acquainted with (his dog was waiting for him on the sidewalk). That little bird now has 4 guardian angels…wonder if it will be back at my feeder tomorrow morning.
I also hate this new format. When I had to sign in again, it put my name back as Rose Rabbit and I had to change it back to Jazz Cat. Pain In The Butt! >^..^<

I heard tomato juice doesn’t really remove skunk odor. I’m just glad I’ve never had to test that theory myself.

There is a recipe that involves a quart of Peroxide, a teaspoon of dish washing soap (I prefer Dawn) and a forgotten amount of baking soda.
A formula here:

Oliver, you need to be more careful about the friends you bring home. They may be fine until Chesney and Lily scare them.

Tomato juice certainly helps, but “Summers Eve” or similar douche works best!

I’m going to blow my own horn this morning and announce that I turned 66 today. I guess I’m now middle aged. Four more years until I’m an old man.

This pretty white kitty cries out to get “out of jail” (or to be adopted).

These two kitties showing catitude remind us why we should feed our cats before we try to eat.
