For an update on my brother Mark. The swelling in his tongue has gone down a little but he still needs the trach tube (I wish I knew for sure how to spell that, but I’m sure you all know what I mean) – we don’t know for how long. He is responsive when they bring him out of sedation. He is able to point at a picture to show where his pain is. When his neighbors visited with him and joked with him that he will do anything for attention, Mark gave them a “thumbs up”. Mark is like that – he’ll start joking with the nurses as soon as he is able to talk again. But with the injury to his tongue, he may not be able to talk correctly for a while yet.
I took the day off from work on Sunday more for emotional healing than physical healing. I needed a “me day”. I have only slight pain now in the back of my neck and I have developed a small bruise on my right upper arm. That’s a little tender. Otherwise, I’m okay. Mary is feeling a little better emotionally as she is being reassured by everyone that this was an accident and she should not kick herself about it. Accidents happen.
I stopped donations to the gofundme. That fund was a Godsend helping pay for the funeral Martha wanted and deserved. Thank you again to all who donated to the fund. And thank you all for your support, you love and your prayers. I am so glad I found this wonderful family of Graham Crackers!
