National Love People Day. Basically, I love people, but there are some people who are hard to love. Cats, on the other hand, well, I’ve never met a cat I didn’t love. Even if they don’t want anything to do with me.
National Chewing Gum Day. I used to like chewing gum, but I don’t chew gum very often lately – not for several years.
National Hot Mulled Cider Day
National Mud Pack Day. This makes me recall the time when I was a little kid and we had dug a huge hole in our back yard. I didn’t understand at the time why the hole was dug , but I think it might have had something to do with an old septic day. Anyway, there was this huge, deep hole dug in the yard. After the hole was filled back in, we had a lot of rain. And I do mean a LOT of rain! All that loose dirt, mixed with all that rain, made for quite the mud hole in the yard. My older brothers went wading through the mud and they sank into the mud quite deep. I can’t recall exactly how deep, but I think they ended up about waist deep. They encouraged me to join them because they thought it felt neat wallowing in all that mud. But I was only about 5 or 6 years old, I think, and I was afraid I’d sink so far I’d drown in the mud. Funny how I could think that my brothers would allow me to drown in the mud without trying to rescue me. But kids get funny ideas sometimes. I wish I could remember more details and I really wish my mom would have taken pictures of my brothers with all that mud on them before she got mad and made them take baths. I’d love to look back at those pictures.
My trip across Ohio on Interstate 70 into Indiana for my beautiful niece’s wedding would have been nicer without all the road construction in both states. When 3 lanes squeeze down into 1 the result is a 5 mile slow moving backup. Fortunately Route 40 parallels the Interstate and we bypassed most of that nonsense by driving 30 mph through small towns. It was still faster than I 70!
Luckily for them that’s a goldfish and not a piranha or an electric eel. (Or worse, the Creature from the Black Lagoon.) Love today’ comic. Very amusing. :D On another note, saw a squirrel, three dragonflies, and a rabbit while out walking today. Didn’t see any fish, though.

Either the cats or the fish need to have a bubble on their heads.

We keep getting too much rain here, too, but so far it isn’t quite as bad as this.

I’d make a DOCTOR WHO joke about a shark showing up next, but everyone here would guess I’m a nerd, and I don’t want that.
