So, yesterday, I told you how Lovebug was feeling really bad, not eating and not getting out of her bed. Only about 8 hours after I typed that, she started showing SLIGHT improvement. I did nothing special to bring this change about. No, she is nowhere near normal and there is no telling what she’ll be feeling like when I get up in the morning, but at this very instant, she’s trending back up again. Twenty-four hours ago, I was wondering if she’d rally this time.
When she is at her worst, she sleeps in one of her “caves” – either the cat carrier or her “cube”. She stays in a tight ball and barely moves. She doesn’t get up even to use the litter box. She wets in her bed. So I use puppy training pads in her bed to keep in drier. But when I got up Thursday morning, she was in her cube with her head up. I know she’s feeling better when she holds her head up. I gave her some tuna (that’s what she eats best when she’s just starting to rally back) and she ate it. She could barely sit up, but she ate!
By the time I got home from work that night, she was still in her bed, but struggling to get out of bed to ask me to feed her. I gave her more tuna and she ate that. I also gave her a bath because she was so full of urine. She got mad at me for that, but she forgave me once her fur dried. She even started washing her face! She’s on my lap right now. No, she isn’t well right now but she seems to be feeling happier than she was just 24 hours ago when I was typing yesterday’s report here. You can see why she has me so discombobulated. I never know how she will feel from one day to the next – or even from one minute to the next, it seems like. We appreciate your support and the virtual hugs and all. I hope she continues her upward trend. I wish she’d stay at the top of this roller coaster, but I know another crash is imminent.
