Re about the fruit flies.. The exterminator said they weren’t fruit flies, they were fungus gnats. They live in potting soil and lay their eggs in the sink drains. EwwwWe had to pour hot water down the drain followed by bleach. And repot 10 houseplants. Thats what I get for buying cheap potting soil.
Ahem. For those of you who took great amusement from my comment yesterday, I was in fact marinating pork for pork lo mein, and I did doze off, but eventually made the dish and it was grand. But I am glad to have given you a chuckle.
Christmas Eve. My hard days at work are almost over, Things di down after Christmas.
National Eggnog Day. I have some of that in my fridge (the non-alcoholic kind).
National Re-gifting Day
PAYDAY for me. And Walmart has included another $300 COVID bonus (our fourth one) for working through the pandemic. So I have a pretty nice pay check this week.
Merry Christmas everyone! From my cats and rescues (we have two new babies, one was plucked from a high traffic road and had cars passing over it!!..both alive and well) to yours’s!
Don’t worry, Oliver, Santa has arrived just in the St. Nick of time. (Sorry about the pun.) On another note, saw two varied thrushes and a wren while out waking today. I also saw another varied thrush, a sparrow, and a squirrel outside on the deck. Merry Christmas! :)
Today I baked pies for neighbors and one for the man who helped the Calixto family when they had a wreck 2 weeks ago near his house. My daughter and her co-worker with dementia whom she is caring for…took his vast collection of sleeping bags (he has been a hoarder for several years with just a travel trailer and a camper shell to live in) and went places the homeless guys hang out, and gave them sleeping bags. (Our nearby town had two homeless guys freeze to death in the last week). So, wishing all of you dear Graham Crackers, a wonderful Christmas, a warm place to sleep and some bourbon for your eggnog or boiled custard and some pie for dessert.
