Cat poppas are never a part of a cat’s life. Chesney should be more interested in finding his mamma who took care of him when he was a wee little baby.
I saw a dragonfly in our garden center yesterday. I don’t often see those. And I saw two deer, about 2 miles apart, on my drive home from work. The first was a doe, standing by the road on my left. The other appeared to be a fawn. It was on my right , not quite as close to the road as the first deer was, Luckily, neither deer decided to cross the road. I slowed down to a crawl when I saw them and they turned around and walked away from the road.
Ivy is settling in well, she’s been here six days now as I’m typing this, and she is about four or five days ahead of where I would expect her to be. This morning she started to further explore the house, and decided to get into a couple of places where she shouldn’t have got, which just means that she’s interested in exploring her new home ;-)
She’s eating well and is enjoying some treats. She’s being fed twice a day, and the last few days has greeted me in the kitchen when I’ve got up in the morning to ask for her breakfast :-)
This afternoon I picked her up and held her, and she didn’t struggle or try to escape out of my arms. I think we’re both going to be happy together :-)
Kittens: when we dropped them off this morning, I had photos and descriptions on my carrier. Dr Susan had descriptions on hers. I mentioned that one time I got the wrong ones back. Robyn said now that won’t happen because they keep the kittens in the carrier, take one out, do it then put it back. Great. No worries.
We get home, unload them, I need to get out of my hot clothes so don’t really pay attention.
Then Dr S calls. It seems I have her boy and she has my girl. (I was wrong on the sex of the two—all three are girls. oops. In my defense, those little nuts are hard to see)
Mine is white with orange on its back. Hers is all white with an orange head. How about not even close?
She wondered why mama and the others were hissing at the baby- then she looked at it. Brad just took this one back.
When I went in to get it, the poor thing was hiding in the shower and the others wouldn’t eat their supper.
I called and left a message for Robyn that the people up there maybe DON’T do what they say they do.
Hmm, that sounds familiar. Will Chesney’s father try to lure him to the dark side? (Not that that would make much of a difference.) On another note, saw a junco, eight rabbits, eight robins, and three tiger swallowtail butterflies while out walking today.

Now where did I hear that…I swear, it is beginning to make sense. Chesney’ behavior and his father…a chip off the old block maybe?

Today is:
National Fudge Day. I’d love to have some fudge today.
National Vinegar Day. Vinegar and fudge? Not a good combination!

Chesney may never meet his biological Poppa but those who raised and protected him are Honorable Poppas.

Looks like I need to be a Star Wars fan to understand today’s strip! Not going to happen, I’ll just browse some random past episodes.
