On the weird side, a few days ago we were joking about unicorns and pizza, and why unicorns don’t like pizza. Today’s “Savage Chickens” is about a unicorn and pizza. I don’t think this unicorn likes pizza either. https://www.gocomics.com/savage-chickens/2022/04/12
I’m having a terrible time with this computer tonight. First off, it’s been PAINFULLY slow. And now, it isn’t showing me any of my comics. I’m able to see the comments, but not the strips. I looked for yesterday’s strip too and it isn’t showing, either. I clicked on the refresh button a couple times, but that didn’t help. I even restarted my computer (and it took a looooooonnnng time to restart!) and that didn’t help. I hope things will be working later.
National Big Wind Day. They’re predicting some wind here today. But not like this:National Big Wind Day commemorates the recording of the highest natural wind gust measured on the Earth’s surface. On the afternoon of April 12, 1934, the Mount Washington Observatory recorded winds at 231 miles per hour. Observers Wendell Stephenson, Alexander McKenzie and Salvadore Pagliuca reported the wind gusts in 1934 from the Mount Washington Observatory. The record even held for several decades. In 1984, the observers returned to the observatory to celebrate the record-breaking wind’s 50th anniversary. Then in 1996, the big wind award from atop Mount Washington fell. A typhoon struck a small island off of Australia with wind gusts of 256 mph.
National For Twelves Day. On National for Twelves Day (4/12), the nation will honor a magnificent number that holds significance in several ways.We measure our days in two 12 hour sets. When we buy roses, eggs, and pastries, we purchase them by the dozen. How many months are in a year? Twelve. Of course, math lovers appreciate 12 because it has a perfect number of divisors.
Also from yesterday’s comments to Queen Of America
So happy for you that things went so well at the hospital yesterday and you are FINALLY out of pain. I can’t even imagine what you were going through. I’m so glad all is well now.
Whew! Wind gusts up to 78 MPH yesterday wrecked havoc all throughout our county. Huge trees uprooted everywhere and several big rigs – which should NOT have been on the road – overturned on the highway. I drove 1 mile to top off my tank and could barely keep my car on the road. Power was out all day. There are hundreds of baby plums on the ground but the rest of the fruit trees didn’t have as much loss nor was there a solid freeze.

I just bought Graham’s “Gardening With Cats” book. For those who haven’t seen it yet, it’s really great. Cute, funny cartoons.

I have seen the ad for the mini Stihl chainsaw other places and if I had bunches of trees here I would prob’ly get one for the quick cut offs.

Today I’ve been getting ads from Sticky Footer at the bottom of my screen. Only on GC. Anyone else? Haven’t installed Ad Blocker yet.

Poor Annie. Talk about a medal of dishonor. On another note, saw four chickadees, a rabbit, and seven robins while out walking today.
