NATIONAL CHOCOLATE PECAN PIE DAY

I’ve gotten so much done while on vacation this week! I didn’t do a lot myself, but I have gotten everything done that needed to be done. On Wednesday, I had the new soffit put up on the back bedroom. On Thursday, I got the new windows put in. On Friday, I had the floor fixed in my front room. Plus, I had my electrician here. He changed the cord on the stove from a 4-prong to a 3-prong so I can use it now. I used it last night to cook some corn for my dinner. And I used the oven to bake a cake. I love that new stove! I have picked some peaches from my tree – so far only ate one of them, but I’ll eat the rest over the next several days. And now I have 10 more days of vacation to just relax and enjoy myself (and to eat my peaches and my chocolate cake!).

Oh yeah – Pebbles has lost all signs of being a feral kitty. Paul brought his girlfriend, Carol, here when he came to fix the floor in my front room. Pebbles allowed Paul to pick her up and she purred up a storm. Paul fell in live with her. And Pebbles fell in love with Carol. She kept rolling around all over Carol’s feet. Paul was able to sneak up on Cindy while she was hiding behind the kitchen curtains so he was able to pet her. I’m confident that I’ll have the feral out of Cindy soon. Panther will come around too, eventually.

From yesterday’s comments to daleandkristen who asked the names of my surviving brothers and sisters.

Starting with the oldest is my sister, Mary. At 74, she is 10 years older than me. Then come my brothers. John, Jim, Mark (my garden is at his place), Joe (2 years older than me), and Paul, my handyman (one year older than me). Then comes me, then the youngest is Daniel, who turned 61 this year. He is the only married member of the family. John has been married and divorced 3 times. Paul was married and divorced twice. Jim and Joe were each married and divorced just once. The rest of us have never been married.

So, Chesney, I presume you were the wielder of the dreaded hook and now you are paying for your insolence.

No wait! We haven’t heard from the rest!

This made me laugh out loud! One last unintentional poem from Chesney. I don’t think it was a bust ~ we all enjoyed it.

Kitty got adopted today! A couple, looked to be in their 30s, recently lost their old cat, a female. They wanted another one. Young, but not a kitten, to be a companion to their adult male. They took her into the bathroom and spent time with her. I hope it all works. I worry for the first week that something will go wrong.

Talk about poetic justice! Serves Chesney right for dissing Oliver. On another note, saw a spotted towhee, four chickadees, a robin, and two dragonflies while out walking today.
