NATIONAL SEND A CARD TO A FRIEND DAY. I’ve been meaning to send a card to my cousin, Becky, just to say hello. I even bought a card for her, but now I have to find it. Becky was hit by a car while crossing the street several months ago (hit and run and as far as I know, the driver was never found). She was in the hospital for quite a while, unable to walk. Her back was broken. Then she went into a nursing home for rehab. She never told me the name of the nursing home and I never asked because she had a cell phone and we kept in touch. But then she lost her phone and for months and months, I had no way to contact her. I googled nursing homes in Springfield, Ohio and there were too many to start calling them. I didn’t even know if she was still in a nursing home because she was trying to get into assisted living. She FINALLY called me a couple weeks ago and I got the name and address and phone number of the nursing home she is in. She is still trying to get her own cell phone. She is learning disabled and needs other people to help her with things like shopping or getting a phone or paying bills. It sure was good finally hearing from her! She is still doing rehab but is still in a wheelchair. She isn’t a strong person. I don’t know if she will ever get out of the wheelchair. But I need to get more communication going with her. I have to send her that card and a letter.
