My knees got better (not 100%, but better). I realized my sleeping position aggravated them. I sleep on my side, and often the top leg would be in a position to put pressure on the other knee. Now I am careful to not let that happen. It made a big difference. It may not be a solution for other people, or even apply to them, but it really helped me.
What I do for that is to pull some blanket between my knees and all is right with the world. :-)
