NATIONAL RUM DAY. None for me, thanks all the same.
NATIONAL TELL A JOKE DAY. Okay, a riddle is a type of joke, right? Whether is is or not, here is my riddle. It’s one that Kevin asks his Grandma Rose in the book I’m writing now.
Q: What runs around a garden, but never moves?
A: A fence!
NATIONAL ROLLER COASTER DAY. I’ve ridden a couple, but I’m not a huge fan of roller coasters.
National Airborne Day makes me want to tell a quick story about my friend Dave who was a Army Paratrooper nearly forty years ago. I don’t know if any of you have seen pictures of those guys jumping out of planes with 300 lbs. of gear attached to them, but they had to be brave as all get out. Dave and I have been friends for about 10 years, but last year Dave had a horrific motorcycle accident in Tennessee and is now a quadriplegic in a V-A hospital in Boston. He’s doing as well as can be expected, but please say a prayer for him. Thanks.
Uh oh, it looks like those rotten mice are going to succeed in flim-flamming Oliver. This looks like a job for Annie! On another note, saw a rabbit, a dragonfly, and two juncos while out walking today.
