I was almost asleep last night when I heard ‘bangity bangity’. I ignored it for a while. Then I got up, thinking one of the cats was on top of my sewing cabinet, but had no idea what noise it might be. Saw nothing. I just stood at the bar for a minute then heard it again. I looked over and saw Moose sitting by the china hutch. The bottom door was cracked open. I shooed him away and put my rolling sewing cart in front of it to keep him away. Then I heard MEOW!Blackjack was inside, the little stinker, and Moose was his lookout! Were they even a little ashamed? No. They both ran to the treats cupboard and sat there.
I remember this one, it’s still very funny. Yesterday ended up very stressful and scary for me. I drove 1 1/2 hours south to pick up my new glasses and discovered the anti reflective coating they had convinced me I needed (an likely do) turned out to show up PURPLE on the outside of the lenses! I was not told it would be purple and found it so horrible looking I gave them back to have it removed. It was very expensive and I am sending a letter today requesting a refund from the office and must now wait another 3 weeks for the glasses to be ready. I am very sensitive to light and need to research to find the proper sunglasses but they won’ be purchased from this place. I ended up driving home after dark in the rain through several miles of new construction and had to follow the white line on the right hand side when passed by cars and trucks so close as there were only orange cones dividing the narrow lanes. Night vision glasses are also needed even though it’s rare for me to drive at night.
When I read the first three panels, I wondered if this was really Chesney. The fourth panel confirms it is Chesney after all. It’s nice to see Annie being appreciated, although it would be nice if it was more sincere. On another note, saw two squirrels and two varied thrushes while out walking today.

If it weren’t for Annie, no one would look after them.
