She could have been out playing with friends, going places and enjoying childhood…………..but, she wouldn’t have it any other way. She loves you all!! Even if you don’t realize how lucky you are.
I love that movie, although I haven’t seen it in a few years. And parts of it are actually silly. Like, if George had never been born, that would not likely have made Mary a stodgy old maid. She probably would have married Sam Wainwright and lived a rich life. And the part where the cop shoots at George with all those people in the street. No cop would do that. But all in all, it was a good movie. And it always makes me cry at the end when George runs back to that bridge and cries, “Please, let me live again”.
21 inches! Wow. I bet all your friends came to see that monster.
Friends across the street got their 21 inch Zenith with the ‘pinging’ remote in ‘66 and they were to place I could see some shows in color. Dad didn’t get ours until about 1970, and it was not the one with a remote.
I remember being at Marshall’s house and if you jingled your keys could make the volume go up or down and sometimes it changed the channel. Don’s older brother had enough keys on a ring that jingling them did things to the tv. The old remotes worked on ultrasonic sound, generated by a ‘hammer’ striking hollow sealed tubes, (like the way a gun is fired), inside the hand held unit. Someone had opened the thing up to where we could see the “works”.
While it may seem a little hokey at times, It’s a Wonderful Life is still a really great movie. (In fact, the hokeyness is what gives it some of it’s charm.) It has a good message in that not only is your life meaningful, you can also have a positive impact on other people, as well. I also like the Saturday Night Live parody where Old Man Potter finally gets his just desserts. On another note, saw seven blackbirds and a seagull while in town today.

Caring for cats is a pleasure. They are one of the good things about life. I do wish they would be a little less messy, though.

It is the telos of humankind to indulge cats.
