Who lets a 5 year old have free use of a credit card, that can get stolen, easier than with grown people who are more conscious of what can happen if crooky types find it. I’M lookin’ at YOU, Cat !!!

Drizzle/rain all day. My mother The Gardner would have loved it…" it’s a good soaking rain". And no I did not inherit that gene. I can only grow vegetables, not flowers. I got that gene from my Paternal Grandmother. She was apprenticed to the Manor House when she was nine. ( in Germany) she worked in the vegetable garden in exchange for school. She taught me how to make jelly and wine. And she was an amazing cook. On a wood stove. Refused to have an electric one. She passed away when I was in 7th grade. And yes I can and have made spatzle and noodles. She lived in Portland Oregon and I spent summers with her. Today is the anniversary of her passing.

From yesterday daleandkristen corrected my comment by sayingNational Sickie Day.

Okay, when I did the “holidays” comment yesterday, I showed National Sickle Day. I got that from the strip Day By Dave. But I misread it as Sickle when it was actually sickie, which certainly makes a LOT more sense! By the way, I read that a large percentage of people also call in sick the day after the Super Bowl.

I was reading posts that replied to my comments on whether or not this is social media. Lots of opinions out there, for sure. I called it a group chat but I think amethyst52 had a better designation: a chat room. I still don’t consider it social media but will concede to that designation.

By the way, if Moose or Blackjack get on here to complain how mean I am, it’s because today their hoard of boxes is going to be reduced from 6 to 5.

Credit card or actual bill to be paid to the restaurant. Who let those moochers have dinner there anyway? I do remember my last trip to Canada at least allowed dogs in restaurants, I hope that hasn’t changed.

Do restaurants in Canada still do this? It’s long gone out of favor in the states. I’ve run and owned high end to very high-end establishments for almost 40 years, and never heard of this outside of the Country Club set. For the longest time it’s been pay, or we involve the police.

Chesney, why do you and Jack keep doing these rotten things to Annie when she works her little fingers to the bone for the ten of you?

Fond memories of La Gavroche in Manhattan in the ‘70s—amazing food.

Leaving a generous tip was the only good thing Jack and Chesney did. Swiping money from a kid like Annie is just plain wrong. (Even if it’s to dine at La Gavroche.) They will have their next dinner at the loading dock. on another note, saw eight varied thrushes, three chickadees, and a wren while out walking today.
