NATIONAL SINGLE PARENT DAY. I’m a single cat parent. Does that count?
NATIONAL FARM RESCUER DAY
NATIONAL SPRAY TANNING DAY. No spray tans for me!
NATIONAL COUNTDOWN DAY
ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE KID DAY®
NATIONAL MEMORY DAY. I forgot what I was going to say about this!
NATIONAL COMMON COURTESY DAY. Common courtesy and common sense are two things that are lacking in many people these days.
NATIONAL FRAGRANCE DAY
NATIONAL FRENCH BREAD DAY
NATIONAL CALIFORNIA STRAWBERRY DAY. I love strawberries, but NOT California strawberries. At least, not the ones we get here in Wisconsin. They’re hard, dry, bland and totally lacking in strawberry flavor.
WORLD POETRY DAY. Chesney and Jack, watch your back, Here comes Lily, Ready to killy (okay, not a great poem. Please forgive me for being silly).
Where do we send a check for the vet??? Yesterday was VERY EXCITING for me! I made my first visit to a winter den we call Rattlesnake Butte, as the day was sunny and I hoped to see a few coming out to get a little heat on the rocks. 2 big red ones curled up together were all I could find, and after exploring for more went back to get a second look at them and they were doing either a mating or combat dance right in front of me! Their bodies were about 2 feet in the air and they kept wrapping around each other for a few minutes, and I got it on video. Big fat beautiful snakes. My first time seeing this behavior! I did not post it on FB as the wrong people often go up there for collecting or killing.
I mentioned, yesterday, waking up to Christmas music. Last night, I had another first. I was reading in bed, my tablet slipped out of my hand, and I got my first black eye. It’s really attractive, but not painful. After all my years of lack of coordination, horseback riding, and other adventures, a Nook gave me my first shiner. That’s a memory.
Looks like they’ll be having disaster for lunch with a side of pain. I wonder if Lily’s paws giggle like Rip Haywire’s fists before committing mayhem. On another note, saw five robins, two juncos and a varied thrush while out walking today.

Is Jack getting a haminahamina sandwich from Gleason’s?

He asked Jack what he felt like for lunch. The answer should have been being lunch when he saw Lily. I wonder if she also needs ketchup.

Jackie Gleason as Ralph Kramden made that same sound when he was in trouble.

Jack needs to make like the roadrunner and get those little legs spinning. It’s every cat for himself when Lily is not amused.

Turn around, Chesney, and you’ll see why Jack is saying that.
