Well, I had a pretty good day yesterday. I bought my new (used) car. I looked at hundreds of cars on Autotrader.com, finding nothing in my price range other than these 2 cars at a dealer in Cross Plains (about 9 miles from here). One was a red 2015 4-cylinder Chevy Cruze (I said yesterday is was a Malibu – that was a boo boo. They had a Malibu last week, but I didn’t know the fate of my own Malibu at the time). The other was a charcoal gray 2016 6-cylinider Chevy Impala. I liked the red, but I liked the size of the Impala better. I was debating which I should try to get, but it was taken out of my hands when someone else bought the Cruze on Wednesday. I had a restless night Wednesday night, thinking about getting a look at that Impala quick before anyone else could buy it. I got there the first thing Thursday morning and took it for a test drive and it fits me just right. I bought it. I found out while purchasing my car that the Impala had none of the “bells and Whistles” that you find on cars these days, but that the Cruze was loaded with extras. I don’t like a lot of “bells and whistles”. I like a simple, ordinary car. This car is similar in many ways to my Malibu. It even had a CD player, which I didn’t even notice until after I got it home. I’m really pleased about that. I always used the CD player in my Malibu. Then I remembered that I had left some CD’s in my Malibu. Luckily, it was still at Willie’s waiting for the salvage company to pick it up. So I was able to rescue my CD’s. I’m pleased and excited about my new car. I’ll be returning the rental (happily) first thing in the morning. It’s a nice car, but I actually like the Impala better.
I picked a bunch of rhubarb yesterday. I made a batch of rhubarb sauce, which I will share with my brother, Mark, (which by the way, is the first name of the guy I bought my Impala from). I’m giving it to him partly in appreciation for helping me pick up my car yesterday from the dealer and partly just because I have plenty enough to share. I held back some stalks of rhubarb for my brother, Daniel, and his wife, Terre. Terre helped me pick up the rental car and Daniel will be helping me return it in the morning. Now I better head off to bed. It’s 3 in the morning and I have a busy day ahead of me, returning the rental car and then soon after that having to go to work.
Hubby sent a beautiful bouquet of roses to my office one Valentines Day. So thoughtful, my co-workers were impressed. Two weeks late I got the florist’s bill in the mail, lol.
Today we welcomed two new floofy members to the family – a pair of sisters, 14 months old, who currently go by the names Willow and Lola. Those will be kept as their middle names. We’re still thinking of names for them. They’re very sweet cats, longhaired tuxies who are nearly identical!
Looks like Chesney still carries a torch for Mimieux. Wonder what kind of flowers cats like. Maybe tiger lilies, catnip, catmint or cattails, perhaps. (Yeah, I know that last one isn’t a flower.) On another note, saw a robin, a junco, and two spotted towhees while out walking today.
