He must have heard me sing. When I was a kid we were required to sing in the choir. Sister Margaret Rose would have a frown on her face while looking for the child singing in a completely different key. At the time I didn’t know I couldn’t carry a tune. Now I know she was hearing me.

We could use a little rain here. But not today! It’s my day off and I plan on spending a large part of it outside because it’s expected to be a warm, wonderful day. For one thing, I need to clean up my garden. We had a killing frost and I need to remove my tomato cages and maybe clean out some dead plants.

Annie is well schooled in country and western songs of the 40’s, as most kids her age are.

I had a couple of Persians (Chico & Vuedue) who would sit in the light summer rain we’d get sometimes. I think mainly because I would dry them off with a towel when they came in, and they liked that. Chico had the habit of then going back outside to get wet again to continue the cycle.

I remember once that Vuedue (Pronounced Voodoo) once sat in the rain until she was absolutely drenched. I kept calling for her to come in (she was sitting by the shed near the house) but it was quite warm and she must have been enjoying it. In the end after about half an hour I went and picked her up and brought her inside where I dried her off. The top layer of her fur was absolutely running in water, she was dripping, but because of the thick Persian coat, the under fur next to her skin was as dry as anything.

I also remember once that Robson (The Alpha, and my Avatar), got caught in a sudden downpour when he was out patrolling (He wasn’t in the garden), he came barrelling in through the catflap at a dead run. He was soaked, and not very impressed, even after I’d dried him off.

I really like the sound of rain as long as it’s not too heavy.

Love Chesney’s expression when Annie belts out a song! Off to Carson City for an eye appointment, allowing 6 hours for what should be a 4 hour drive but road work is everywhere. Couldn’t leave before checking what these rascals are up to! And it’s 4;30min the morning.

Only thing worse than a wet cat is a wet dog (or goat).

Annie’s singing can’t be that bad, Chesney. Come in out of the rain before you catch your death.

Everyone can sing. Just sayin’ (I know it’s not true, but why shouldn’t Annie be able to?)

I wonder if we are going to be a day off all week? Looks like Sunday’s comic got uploaded with the wrong date, hence yesterday nuthin, and today a Sunday strip. Probably needs to re-upload with yesterday’s date, and upload today’s to get back in sync.

I didn’t realize it was Frankie Laine. I was a big fan of his when I was 5.

I think I’ve heard that song somewhere, but I can’t remember where. I’ll gladly take rain over wind or snow. There something nice about hearing it rain while you’re sleeping. On another note, saw two sparrows, three nuthatches, two juncos, a spotted towhee five varied thrushes, four chickadees, two finches, two wrens, and two squirrels while out walking today.
