Can't we go to a Mexican restaurant, please? Brutus: Oh, all right, if it's that important to you. Wilberforce: Hooray! Wilberforce: I'll have a cheeseburger and fries!

I remember a similar facepalm is 1970. Birthday dinner at the local Mexican restaurant, El Charro. This being the first time my best friend had eaten Mexican food, he orders fried chicken. Thankfully he’s a bit more willing to try something new these days.

Be sure to put some habaneros in his burger so he’ll get that authentic Mexican experience.

A cousin of mine had a similar experience, but in reverse. Her five year old son spent the summer with his grandmother in Puerto Rico. Upon his return, to celebrate they went to a fancy restaurant and kid wanted rice & beans.

Order a steak in a Mexican restaurant and you end up with a steak that would be harder to cut than a shoe. You have to know how they cook the steak, or else order coffee and a sweet roll.
