Maybe the mattress is just a little slow on the uptake, so to speak. Give the mattress a chance to commit Uncle Ted to memory, and see if there is any difference.
I think the idea of memory is to go back to the original form. Not to remember your body. Anyway, as a rule of thumb, I dislike “smart” things or things with “memory”. Can you imagine? “a thing” able to remember what happens in your bed?? Those are things I’m trying hard to forget… :D
The bed at my grandma’s house, with a thick feather mattress was the best place to sleep. Crawl in, then wiggle around a little to get snuggled in just right. ZZZzzzz…
Or it works perfectly. Problem is the old mattress with its lumps and valleys was something you were use to and dare I say, even comfortable with. Takes a while to adjust to something new, even if,or especially if, it’s better……

You should have taken it for a test-drive, so to speak, before buying.

You should always buy a mattress with at least — one terabyte of “memory!” Mine contains two terabytes of “memory” and it never “forgets!”

Mattress, our nightly friend (even of the day, sometimes).

Hate memory foam mattresses. They make it impossible to roll over in bed.

I’ve tried memory foam mattresses. Don’t care for them.

Even our old mattress without memory foam eventually gets the memory after 4 or 5 years. We used to call it sagging in the middle.

Good thing it has a bad memory. It won’t be telling Uncle Ted’s secretes to the next occupant.

I have a memory foam pillow, and it remembers how flat it was when I last used it.

my futon has a good memory, which is why it tries to encourage me to sleep elsewhere…

Uncle Ted has given up on mattresses and moved on to recliners.

This is not how memory foam works. It goes back to original shape of the mattress—not to your body shape.

unless they’ve change it recently memory foam gives me claustrophobia … and perspiration

Memory foam came to late for me, when I no longer had a body worth remembering.

Maybe it remembers too much, and wants revenge.

I think “amnesia” would have been a better choice.
