I see they have made sonar shoes for blind people. The shoes alarm if an object is in front of you. I expect them to be very popular with phone junkies too. A local college has crossing guards so they don’t get run over while obsessed on their phones.
Amateur. For years I walked and read books and could see around the book enough to avoid low level obstacles. It was the high level ones that were difficult to avoid.
I know I’m going to the Bad Place for this, but I REALLY enjoy watching people who are staring at their phones and walking into things; walls, signposts, closed glass doors, even off the edge of curbs. It’s hilarious.

It’ll get easier once you start driving. Or so I’ve been told.

There’s the project for the next must-have application; sonar with real-time feedback.

We are losing our natural protective instincts by using those devices as much as we do. Sad but true. Watch out for that pothole ahead…..

Evolution is obviously slower than technology.. but have faith, the twain will meet at one level or another.. eventually.

I’ve personally observed a young lady walking into a street sign.

I’m surprised somebody hasn’t developed a proximity indicator app for phones.

I’ve watched two idiots on cell phones walk into each other. Best hope is that they’ll be too tied up on their phones to reproduce.

How about a phone that’s smart enough to turn off when it’s owner is walking.
