I hear ya, Eddie. That’s what I thought too.

He’s cute, but yes, he should get a smaller fork. My siblings and I had our own children sized cutlery with cute animals on them. We learned to hold forks and spoons properly from the start without a problem. When I see little children hold a giant fork or spoon in their tiny fists, I get a cramp in my hand just from watching them. That’s a spoon, not a shovel.

I try to only run our dishwasher twice a week, sometimes the only forks and spoons left are the little ones

I’m kinda embarrassed to explain why I’ve always needed a tablespoon at my setting. I learned early on that I could eat faster and fill my mouth more completely, than when I had to use a teaspoon.

In the past, we had some fairly large potlucks, so we have service for about 40. Our limit is the capacity of the dishwasher. Dishes one day, laundry the next, repeat.

Use the little forks for scrambling eggs.

I myself prefer the smaller “salad” forks myself over the the larger ones. Always have. Wife finally doesn’t argue about it anymore….

My younger 2 kids called the ones with the ornate handles they ‘ladies and gentlemen’ forks, or spoons or whatever.

I refuse to use the “kid forks” even if I AM eating a salad! My objective is to get the meal over with as quickly as possible so as to be able to move on to bigger and better things. Life is too short to waste lingering over meals any longer than necessary. (Yep, some people live to eat – I’m definitely one who only eats to live).

Wow! They’ve been listening to conversations my husband and I have (not the subject matter as much as the flying by one another.)

hubby likes a bigger fork just because it is more comfortable for him to hold. I don’t mind the smaller salad fork. In some cases I prefer the long handled, small bowled parfait spoon.

I have small hands, so I prefer the salad forks for most things.
