Now even dolls get movies? Writers, etc, must be scraping the bottom of the barrel for something to make their presence felt.
But, that movie isn’t the only really poor production based on good books. Watched several episodes of Joe Picket, which takes its storyline from the really good series of novels written by C.J. Box.
Yep, they took it, wrung out the story lines, and added melodrama, angst, personality disorders, a different mix of character types, changed some of them 180 degrees, and added curious pacing. Spend time with Joe’s teenaged past. In one scene, Joe’s wife destroys his character and is surprised when he storms off. It has become a mountain version of a soap opera.
But, the mountain scenery is great and the animal scenes – drunken moose trashing a school cafeteria and bashing a pickup truck, wolves tearing at a carcass, the falcons, etc are unusual and very well done.
