Nope, we don’t/won’t use automatic pay. It’s way too easy for something to go sideways.
After my mother died, it was an enormous @#$%&!! hassle to get the automatic bill pays stopped; even after calls, faxes of the death certificate, emails, and months of time consumed, all the while receiving threatening calls and letters.
Retired on a limited income and Auto Pay. I simply do not trust the technology – Murphy’s Law states “whatever can go wrong, will go wrong faster and bigger when computers are involved”

The one time that I used Auto-pay it tried to deduct twice …… I finally got it straightened out and never used auto-pay again ….. :(
