I like watching the Westminster Dog Show, when they say the name of the dog, 4 or 5 words long and then say “but he goes by Buddy.”

I always wanted to name a dog Qualude so that, if he ever went missing, I would have to walk through the park calling his name.

I’m a real jerk to my future self sometimes.

    Meanwhile, in another corner,

    “Hello, Ralph”

    “Hello, Sam”

I named a dog “Peeve” once. I had always wanted a pet Peeve.

I had a dog that I called “Handyman” – he was always doing little odd jobs around the house.

I’ve got eight brand new Havanese to name, born yesterday— any suggestions? There are three that look pure white, others are various combinations of black and white. By the way, a Havanese is a small ( about 10 pounds) hypoallergenic super fluffy puppy.

We once owned a black Pomeranian. We called her “coffee” but we had to register her as Black Walnut Coffee Cake so as not to conflict with the many other registered dogs named “Coffee.” (Yup – I’m a Coffee snob!)

How about the name Dfor…..D for Dog. A friend of mine had a dog named Dfor and everyone would ask what kind of a name is Dfor. It’s definitely a conversation opener.

Shouldn’t the name tags be on the butts?
