Tom the Dancing Bug by Ruben Bolling The Adventures of Bob Thrilling! Action-Packed! Lunch-Oriented! Today's the day. It's too late to back out. It's happening. All the preparation...it boils down to one moment. HOT! Bob: Large New England clam chowder. Chef: Right. Which one looks nicer? The one on the right. Act natural. Friendly and deferential, but decisive. Here it comes. Woman: Six forty eight. You want multigrain or sourdough bread? Bob: Um, can I have both? For a split second, time stands still. Woman: Okay. You want a receipt? PLOP PLOP Through planning and cunning strategy, it is done. Everything changes today. END
I’m sorry, Mr. Bolling, but I just cannot handle this level of tension so early in the day. Lucky Ducky is stressful enough for me. This edge-of-the-seat drama will have to wait until I’ve a stiff drink, say 10 a.m. or so.
