I suppose some communities still have town dumps. Our county has a huge commercial incinerator with modern pollution controls for burnable trash, which also produces steam for heating nearby buildings.

I accidentally dropped and shattered an empty wine bottle left over from Thanksgiving as I was taking it to be recycled. It was oddly satisfying. Except for all of the glass I had to clean up.

The sea gull looks happy about the up coming dump trip.

One of the things I love about WtB is the parents thinking like kids, embracing kid things as special and relishing that time. Kids today are forced into growing up so fast most of the time, at least that’s what it seems like.

Our trash pickup no longer recycles glass but there are sites with giant purple bins where you can dump your glass. For me, the inconvenience is outweighed by the satisfying sound of the glass bottles exploding in the bin.

Used to have a dumpsite behind our farm. Loved to go out and smash things. Good for the soul.

I’ve seen the sun rise from Mt Fuji, but never from a dump. Must put that on the bucket list.

You’d think Sterling would enjoy going to the dump to destroy things, given his destructive tendencies…
