Expedite right away! And that’s why they’re called expeditions. (I knew a man arrested for expositioning himself in public.)

We ‘believe’ is often followed by we ‘were wrong’. They spent your money anyway.

In those days and under those conditions, I think it would be the opposite of a vacation!

He seems to get good mileage to the galleon.

Somehow I doubt galleons are not as luxurious as cruise ships.

Texaco had an oil lease in the Oklahoma panhandle. The farmers had written into the lease that they had to drill an exploratory well within so many years or lose the lease.

They had forgotten about the stipulation until the farmer who owned the land called to ask when they were going to drill it.

The geologists told them there was no reason to expect anything. The reservoir department calculated there was still enough recoverable hydrocarbons to justify the cost to retain the lease, so they drilled.

I wouldn’t mention this had it not led to discovery of large new reserves and much more money for all parties involved.

    ……………………..

Maybe they’ll discover something worth more than gold. Exploration tends to work out that way.
