I think Roy and I would have gotten along quite well as 13 year old kids. He could have worked on the teletype machine that we connected with a 300 baud acoustic coupler modem to the University main frame once a week to run our BASIC programs.
Roy probably would have had a lot of trouble fitting in at my school when I was 13, even though there were well over 400 other 8th graders that year. It was 1961, and being a brainy nerd was definitely not cool yet. (I speak from experience.)
