That philosophical path may work for some individuals, but not for everyone… especially not all those who want to be astronauts. There just aren’t enough openings..And not everyone is suited to choosing a single goal and pursuing it relentlessly. I, e.g., have had several “careers” and enjoyed each of them. There are too many interesting things in the world for me to restrict my focus to only one… even professionally.
