OH WOW! I thought I’d got away with it, but you guys snuck up on me on my schedule!

The cakes and cards were just great. Your ant (and bird and turtle…) cake was perfect, Susan — just what this Victorian Naturalist would love. Stel, you’ll be happy to know that I went out to dinner with friends with not one, but two Bat Pugs — Daisy and Onslo. Got misty-eyed at Dry’s message of friendship.

Is today’s strip really true? I know Mel has never caught a fish, but I’m almost sure I remember a strip where either Cuddles or Fluffy catches a fish and hauls it away in front of a fishless Mel, back before either Mario or Darwin crawled up onto the dock. Personally, I would also count the sea bass that Cuddles once ordered in a restaurant:
