Amen, sister!

Have never known Janis to be quite so blunt. Arlo, forewarned is forearmed.

When it comes time to leave, it’s hard to let go. It could be a new home but it will take a while to be home. Eventually just a memory like the one you left years ago.

“Remember, we’re just going to look.” Uh, huh. What happens if Arlo just comes out and says he doesn’t want to move?

When I look around at all of the “stuff” we have, I dread the idea of moving. And yet being in my 70’s it is becoming more and more difficult to maintain the yard and house, so I’m going to have to face up to the possibility some time.

Cut the crap and spread the fertilizer!

Seems like they both waffle, just over long periods of time.

I agree Arlo, cut the crap and tell people you don’t want to move, you aren’t going to move.

You established a life there, no need to uproot all that because your kid decided to move half way across the country and now wants to control you.

So Arlo is saying that the house and living in the past is more important than making new memories with his child and their family….interesting.

Sometimes a romanticized dream is just that, a dream never meant to be realized such as living by the sea.

I’ve always had regrets over moving from a home which has received much attention but there were reasons to move which were more important than the memories.

I went to a weekend boat show once, climbed all over the displays and admired the nautical equipment, and ended up buying a set of encyclopedia …

Wow Janis grew a pair and Arlo is being such a wimp and wuss about moving. One of them needs to dominate this decision and just make it happen one way or the other.

Over the first 23 years of our relationship, we lived 10 places.

The last 18 we’ve lived in this house. The guy we bought it from bought it from a little old widder-woman who’d been alone in it for decades, then rented it to college students for almost 10 before selling it.

I busted my buttocks restoring it; I hired someone to refinish the wood floors I pulled the nasty carpet off, but everything else was my sweat.

My physical capabilities not being what they were, I am having trouble keeping it up – but I can’t imagine leaving any way but feet first.

yea tired of you wining, lighten up, and where is that sail boat dream? huh

It’s just a house. I’m in home 18 in 48 yrs. I love moving and new places. I hate feeling stuck here but here we are… stuck in a place meant to be temporary. Another reason to despise overseas buyers driving prices up. But at least I’m close to family. That, is the important thing. So suck it up Arlo, at least you have a choice.

When you plant trees, shrubs, plants a part of you goes into the process. You watch and nurture the life you helped establish!! Janis should cut the crap and suck it up!!!
