Ahahahaha this is so true. All little kids are scared witless of the mall santa.

I have a full white beard and a high end Santa suit. I was once offered a gig as a mall Santa. After thinking about little kids freaking out and possibly peeing in my lap, I decided to pass.

I remember many (many) years ago. My mother took my little brother & I shopping at Montgomery Wards. We stopped for a snack at the snack bar. The store Santa was taking a break. My little brother (who was 4 or 5 at the time) saw him & called to him. Santa was a good sport & offered to let my little brother sit on his lap to hear his Christmas list right there in the snack bar! However, my brother refused to sit with him unless I was nearby. My mother took a picture, and I’m standing next to Santa in the picture.

Perspective changes when up close and personal. This applies not just to children but adults as well.

Best Santa – child interaction I ever saw was when a the Santa left his big chair and sat on the floor next to an autistic little boy. Talking to him softly and letting him stroke the soft white fur of his sleeve cuff. Being non-verbal, all the boy could do was a gurgling coo, but you knew he was happy.

Maybe that’s why I’ve never played Father Christmas.

Just don’t take a picture of Wren screaming on his lap and then send it out as a “cute” Xmas card.

Wren is very confident in what she "waaaah"nts and doesn’t "waaaah"nt for Christmas.

My daughter did the exact same thing when we stood in line to meet Mickey Mouse at Disney World. She kept saying Mickey Mickey Mickey and when she got in to see the giant mouse she totally freaked out

Thank heaven Wren is still in diapers.

Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus, dripping down Santa Claus Lane

Wren was excited, so excited her bladder overwhelmed her brain

Santa’s sighing whilst his pants are drying under the Global air machine

So parents be caring, Santas wary, of your two legged peeing queen.

I’d probably scream, too, if a face that big (compared to mine) looked at me with that expression.

I love panel four! The violent strength of Wren’s blast is clearly drawn. The chair back even reels under the impact.

When Wren speaks, no other voice is heard. Shame she is incoherent.

Some “Karen” on tic tok or somewhere wants all Santas banned because her “sweet little angel” cried just like Wren is doing. It’s terrible that parents lie to their kids about Santa, the Easter bunny, and whatever! How will the kids ever trust their parents after they learn the truth about Santa, et al?!

I never liked the idea of mall Santas. Especially after I worked at a mall and saw one “backstage” and in his street clothes. I don’t think many people would have encouraged their kids to sit on his lap!

Why did Wanda take her to see Santa on Christmas Eve? I get it that Zoe and probably Hammie feel too old to sit on his lap, but she could have brought her earlier in the month when they were at school, not when he’s supposedly over Australia.

You know what is really awful about this? As an adult I would tell myself how much I want something, and wish for it dearly, but when I’m on the threshhold of getting it, I back off, I’m afraid. Maybe subconsciously I don’t believe I’m worthy of it?
