Darryl’s guess was right for around here. The last storm brought five killed from falling trees just here in the Bay Area. There was one during the previous storm. Tuesday morning should bring more trees down.
Ah yes, the notorious Spring Break. A week of "I’m bored – There’s nothing to do – Hammie’s touchhng me / making gross noises – Hammie to Wanda “Mom what’s reprobate mean? Zoe says I’m one.”
We are just back from spring break here. And, our superintendent passed away during the break. He was also popular when he coached girls basketball here a few years ago as well. Today has been….interesting for sure. :(
In the fifties and sixties, at least where I was, it wasn’t “spring break” it was Easter vacation. One or two days off before Easter and then the following week. Separation of religion from secular was a bit muddled.
春休み, haruyasumi, is a mercifully brief two weeks that will be over at the end of next week. and on the plus side, japan’s birth rate has been declining precipitously so there are fewer and fewer of the little monsters running around…
I’m European and I don’t understand what is the “Spring Break” and why it is so popular. Is it because the universities courses are done by semester or is there another explanation?? Thank you!!

If you can’t handle a week Wanda. What do you do in the summer when school is out for three months ?

Two suggestions to get you through this: Earplugs, and heroin.
