I’m kind of like Hammie here. I fail to see the problem. It sounds just like my bed. At least on a good day.

No, the problem is that you didn’t even try! Now make your bed or you’ll be sleeping on the floor!

Making the bed and fertilizing and watering the lawn to make it grow only to cut it down again. Both are useless endeavors.

Had I popped off to my mother like that, I’d have hd my backside paddled, made to clean the room and the would have had to do whatever other chores she could find me to do.

If I had talked to my Mother like that, I would still be grounded. And I’m 57.

Actually Hammie’s method isn’t all bad from a health perspective. Beds are infested with very tiny dust mites that feed off the skin that our bodies shed. Dust mights breed in the warm damp environment created under the sheets and covers. Leaving the bed unmade allowed the moisture to dry up reducing the dust mites in the bed. If you don’t want to spend all day staring at a messy bed cleaning experts recommend waiting at least an hour before you make it.

Hammie would actually prefer that she have no standards at all in this area at least.

With my husband and I, only time we have visitor’s is my sister/husband, I do not put effort on our bed, summer sheet’s are a pain pull up easy. My mom loved her bed made and room clean, my sister is the same way with their bed.

c’mon mom …put away yer white gloves!

I don’t “make” my bed between sheet washing…I open it up even further… to air it out and dry out any body moisture from the night before..It’s more sanitary to NOT make the bed between sheet washing!.. and it only gets “made” when I do wash the sheets, or when company comes who might see it!

His bedroom door should have police tape in front of it.

I remember doing that. And the bruisings until I could do it “right.”

Yeah, not sure that argument is going to fly Hammie.

Isn’t this the way we are with God? We know what He expects of us, but we tell Him “Your standards are too high.”

Time to pull out the quarter and turn into a drill seargeant.
