My kids surprisingly ate broccoli with no complaints, though one insisted that his be raw, and the other preferred steamed. They still do like it.

Hated squash. As an adult at a friends for dinner. The veg is squash. I am the type to eat what people serve and dug in. It was great!! On reflection, my father would pick his squash way too big and seedy and my mother would boil it to death! My friend’s wife cooked small ones to perfection. I think many kids hate veg because it is not cooked correctly.

after almost a lifetime of cooking squash so that it became mushy (per my mom’s teaching) I finally learned a better way to cook it and now I love most squash.

Only way squash is palatable is with plenty of butter sugar and cinnamon.

I love both broccoli and squash… several people in my family, however, do not. Squash makes some of them gag, no matter what way it was prepared. The only squash I can make that everyone can eat is spaghetti squash.

Can’t tell what that dish is supposed to be. Why didn’t she make calabacitas?

broccoli is one of the tastiest, healthiest veggies out there if prepared right and its a known cancer fighter!I was served broccoli in the hospital last week and it was awful: totally overcooked! I don’t care that much for summer squash except for zucchini bread. Its usually too mushy. I love all winter squash, spaghetti squash especially.

Not just Latino kids hate it. Spend my teenage years in Vacaville Ca. My mom got squash of all varieties from the fruit and vegetable stands, and My grandparents truck farm. I tried all varieties of squash. Part of it was it was with every meal during the summer. Second I don’t like it. I still look at it and go a little yuck when it is served. Give me broccoli PLEASE

I’m with ya, Gracie! And your squash looks like a mushy pile that should be thrown away.

I’ve always liked both! The one thing I recall having a hard time eating was Brussels sprouts, and now that my taste isn’t so sensitive, those are okay, too.

To cook broccoli. Put some pebbles in a pot. Add salted water and bring to boil. Add broccoli, or squash, or cauliflower, or Brussels sprouts, or cabbage and cook until just crunchy.Throw the water and vegetables away and eat the pebbles
