I’ll take something stronger! Especially if I am to watch ice melt, sand-dune move, grass grow…

“WHY,” are you just sitting there sipping wine and watching certain death, when you SHOULD be in survival mode, hunting and skinning animals for food and warmth??

Remember kids this is a chance sport. There is a chance this will spend the next twenty years moving two inches a day. There is also a chance it will suddenly kick into over drive and go 150 feet in a day.

I remember on my trip to Alaska, we got to watch a glacier calve icebergs from the deck of our ship.

I’ve never seen a glacier move, but I have heard them.

There is a reason I don’t live in places like Alaska or Greenland: I can’t outrun a glacier.

They say creatures stop evolving when they learn to change their environment. Looks like adding a chair and a glass of wine to his environment is a pretty good change…

I think hallucinogens would be more appropriate in this case.

given the current rate of decline in Greenland and Antarctic, he’d better do shots.

I’m sure that, once the tribe is fed and watered, there is a little time for sitting around and enjoying doing a little bit of nothing while enjoying the literal “fruits” of your labor. Frankly, glacier migration is just as entertaining as some TV shows I have sat through the last few years(with enough wine).

A man I worked with married an Alaska native. They were in Alaska, hiking along what he described as the “dirty part” of a glacier: where the land had already been chewed up by the glacier the last time it advanced. Mark sat on a boulder and beckoned his wife to sit beside him. She sat, yelled, and jumped up. They could feel the ground rumble as the glacier gradually advanced!

Paint hadn’t been invented so watch glaciers. Las Vegas was taking odds on whether glaciers were advancing or retreating

There weren’t any glaciers for most of the Mesozoic. Nor will there be in the near future that these people live in. Must have been the Zeus Weather Sat that can produce cold temperatures temporarily.
