My very favorite Elvis moment! It’s love at first sight!

What is going on with those ears?

Elvis’ relationship with The Woman has always been protective and proprietary, so it makes sense that he should feel this way about what is a miniature version of The Woman, just with darker hair. (I do hope that, in the coming years, Georgia will address in the comic the real-life phenomenon of the Boy and Girl switching hair colours: the Boy’s got darker and the Girls got lighter.)

The Feels! So any Feels!!! This is one of my all-time favorite Elvis moments. Along with a few I can’t mention for spoiler reasons…

Although if you want to suck her breath a bit, I won’t stand in the way of feline tradition.

Annnnd, he’s gone … from hard-boiled, disgruntled reporter to zealous guard cat in no time flat :)

I love the way he says “Why would I want to see the new baby?” while moving to look at her.

Lots of fireworks going off in my neighborhood. Might want to have hoses connected in case folks get a little careless. A 12 year old neighbor boy burned his hand today. Mom was is the house. Thankfully, he should heal OK.

Good morning and happy Thursday/Purrsday, orbsters and orbabies! Paul was not a happy camper yesterday afternoon and evening. Radiation was running 40 minutes late and chemo 60 minutes late. Then we got scolded by the chemo oncologist for not going to an appointment we didn’t know about. Then, for him, the final straw (although he has been warned this would happen), was “chemo barf” on the way home. Fortunately, we were in Barrie when it started and our driver pulled over to the side of the road so he could upchuck. He was sick until about 9:30 last night when he finally fell asleep. I feel bad because I’ll have to get him up in about 45 minutes as his radiation appointment is early today. I also wanted to let everyone know that I won’t be here on Saturday and Sunday as we are heading down to my mother-in-law’s (she has central air) during the Canada Day weekend heat wave. She has a floor air conditioner we will be bringing home with us so we can keep the apartment cool and comfortable. Hugs, bumps and boops to all in the mega-orb!

Isn’t Elvis just too adorable? Note to Georgia: probably one of your best strips ever, in my estimation anyhow.

Is it just me, or does the Woman look preggo in the first panel? She definitely did not look to be in that condition yesterday and the day before.

In this time of hard hearts and harsh statements, seeing these characters, especially this morning, actually made my eyes a little ‘leaky’ with happiness. Thank you so much!!

I had to go back to the original of this report and check if Elvis’ ears were crossed then and they were, I can’t believe I didn’t catch that then :( On another, more personal note, I would like to ask for some prayer/support. I just had a mammogram and they found something in one of the girls. I have to go back next week for more pics and I’m a little nervous about it, I’ve never had a problem with them before, they’ve always been so well behaved, and now just as I turned 60 one of them starts to act up. (heavy sigh) ;)

Soft heart or soft head? Maybe a bit of both?

Apropos of nothing…

What do you call the dish where you separate an egg, dip a slice of bread with a hole cut in the middle in the beat up whites, give that the french toast treatment, and put the yolk in the hole at the end to finish it?

I have made them, off and on, for quite some time. I just can’t remember what it’s called.

This is such a great story arc. And as one of you guessed a couple of days ago, MY favorite Elvis line is yet to appear. I’m thinking tomorrow….

This is one of the reasons Elvis is my favorite … then there’s Puck … and I suppose Lupin … and Tommy, of course, and Sir Figaro … and a certain yet to be encountered “character.”

Elvis just found the second love of his life, besides food of course.

I love this strip. I have PTSD and this comic (and the comments) brighten my day. I read the political/editorial cartoons because I sometimes feel a need to correct misinformation and to vent my feelings (my VA psychiatrist says that is a good thing to do) but this strip, and a few others, bring me joy. Thanks, Georgia.

I love the crossed ears! Are they twisted with love or is it possible that he may change his mind? Only Elvis knows for sure.

It’s so funny when a cat or dog kind of adopts a new baby when it comes home. All my pictures when little have our dog Snickers in them. She decided to be my second mom and the only one who could approach me without challenge was my actual mother. Snickers sometimes would give my Dad trouble unless my mom told her to stop.

Elvis, my cat Mittens and T-Tucker before him are special cat souls. They protect children at night from bad dreams and are always there to offer a sympathetic paw. There is a special place all cats like this go when they cross the rainbow bridge.

Thank you to everyone, human & feline, for all of your encouragement and sharing your experiences with me. It made such a difference to my mental well being. I think it being the first time after what 20 to 30 yrs of normal mammos, I think part of me thought I was immune. I mean i know that’s not how it works, but i think that’s what shocked me most. ANyway, I made a decision to give this to God and am not going to worry anymore. I will go to my appt on the 5th calm, cool, and collected. Thank you all again, I’m so grateful to be part of this loving, comforting, encouraging, fun group. If i missed thanking someone personally, I’m sorry, I really tried to respond to everyone.

Favorite Elvis moments ever!!!!

Gloria, it’s not that one of the girls has misbehaved. It’s that you have been proactive and discovered it while you are young!! You are in for a little worry now and then a whole lot of relief later once you have dealt with her. I have been there, including surgery and radiation. I am 60. My husband married me after the surgery and thinks i am as beautiful now as the baby girl in that strip. You are blessed.
