I used to tell Meimei that her pills in pill pockets were a “special kitty treat for good girls.” She wasn’t fooled for a minute. Part of her chemotherapy came in pills and I had to haul her down the street to the local vet (accompanied by her Springsteen playlist) to have the tech give it to her to make sure she actually swallowed it.
Kitty breakfast time is nothing to horse around with. Less talking, more can-opening please. Santana and our other Orb songwriters, would you please do Elvis Presley’s “A Little Less Conversation” for us today?
The Woman really should observe the time properly by wearing her fanciest breakfast duds.♥ (Were I into cosplay, I would totally make this outfit, for it is resplendent.) https://www.gocomics.com/breaking-cat-news/2018/11/11
She-Whose-Whim-Is-The-Prime-Mover-Of-The-Universe would never stand for such cutesy playing around. Her slaves know that they must deliver the goods on time or face Severe Consequences.
The song “Greensleeves” was mentioned yesterday. I thought you might like to know the origin of the song. Here’s Michael Flanders telling you about it.
Elvis is only salty because he knows that if anyone cared to investigate it would soon become apparent that he is, indeed, not a good kitties. Be grateful the woman has a huge blind spot where you are concerned, Elvis.
A few years ago, before my cat Gracie went deaf, I was in the kitchen opening a can of tuna for my lunch. I always make sure to save a little bit for Gracie, and that day was no different. At that time, she was in the family room, on the windowsill, sound asleep and my roommates were sitting on the sofa watching TV. Here’s how it went:
“Gracie! Look what mama’s got!”
BOOM!BOOM!BOOM!
“AAAAHH!” “WHAT THE…?”
…
“Meow.”
Gracie has been somewhat trained to associate that phrase with canned tuna. So when she heard me saying that, she jumped down from the windowsill and somehow my 7 lb kitty made so much noise and chaos trying to get to the kitchen that it startled my roommates. When she got to the kitchen, she politely let me know that she was there and ready for the tuna.
By the way, for all you skeptics out there, no it was not the smell of the tuna that attracted her. I’d had that can opened for a minute before I made the announcement. She jumped down from the windowsill only after I had said something.
I used to play a game with my cata where I pretended I could not see them. They would follow me around the house as I called and looked for them. After a few minutes, I would “find” them. Their relief was quite evident; I wasn’t crazy after all.

I guess it’s not rhetorical question time by Elvis’ watch. Did he miss the time change a couple of weeks ago?

I have never known a cat who didn’t automatically assume, when asked that time it was, that it was time to eat.
But Lupin’s joy at realising is too pure to be snarky.
