Guessing Ora Zella was the instigator behind the “let’s run away into the weather and see what happens!” plan these two have going on here. What a little whirlwind!
Ora Zella, you’re not vicious, are you? I doubt you have a mean bone in your unusually small body. You’re more like that line from A Midsummer Night’s Dream : “Though she be but little, she is fierce.”
She just describes perfectly our tiny Tortie, PK short for “Personal Kitten” also known as “Pickle”. She is 13 this year and still a sassy ball of kitten sized bossy attitude. Tough, sweet, an amazing hunter, a great Cat Mom, Feral when it’s warm outside, a docile family cat and purr machine when the snow is blowin’. And still, I’m the only one who can pick her up and hold her after all this time.
X-treme Torties are so, so adorably independent and opinionated. My late, great Tweedle Diva (aka “Tweedie”) was a constant “reviewer/advisor” for 17 years. Talk about Royal Entitlement, LOL. It’s been 10 years, and I miss her still.
OT sort of: Georgia posted on Facebook yesterday that is donating 2 strips to Alley Cats and Angels of NC auction that starts this weekend. They are two strips from the cactus scratching post storyline.
We had a tiny tortie too. Marbles never got over 6 lbs and was usually hanging around the 5 lb mark. Even though Scrappy looks huge in the picture he was only 11 lbs (he got down to a health 8 later), so you can see how tiny she actually is. https://imgur.com/a/309uCxc

“Many folks have been asking about the 2023 BCN Calendar! YES! I am going to make one, and I’m going to try to make it available in mid-November. I’ve decided to pick twelve of these cards to use for the calendar! Let me know your favorites today and as the month goes on. I may do a post at the end as well to get an idea of which cards to use! I’ll announce when the 2023 calendar is live in the shop next month.”
And “humble” enough not to mention a fashion sense that rivals that of my favorite artist, the Marvelous Ms. Sophie. I do adore the pink and purple outfit. She just screams (in all caps) Grrrl Power.

The Impressions and Brian Hyland: Gypsy Woman
From nowhere, in the Purple Room
There was a sudden Thwump
A small but feisty kitty,
Performed an amazing jump!
She was easily startled,
But amazingly gentle!
…….
She was a tortie kitty,
She was a tortie kitty,
She was a tortie kitty!
…….
She danced and jumped around the room
Such a sight to see!
After a few tumbles across the floor,
How she showed such esprit!
Oh, how the Orb loves to welcome you!
You, and your pirate friend Iggy!
…….
We love you, tortie kitty!
We love you, tortie kitty!
We love you, tortie kitty!
…….
All through the Purple Room,
She was running, are we all doomed?
Bea was grinning ear to ear!
This cat who had no fear!
We wait to see adventures new,
With the both of you,
How we love you!
We love you!
Tortie kitty!
(We love you) Tortie kitty!
Tortie kitty!
(We love you) Tortie kitty!

She’s anything but typical
She’s a craze you’ll endorse, she’s one powerful force
Her energy’s boundless and delightful, of course
She acts happy and carefree, and we can plainly see she’s

A perfect demonstration of the mathematically proper way to count cats:
Where n = counted cats, and nƒ = functional number of cats.
nƒ = n^n for all values of n > 0
Just do the math.

Ora Zella’s statements in the last 2 panels remind me of Alanis Morrisette’s “Hand in My Pocket”
I’m easily startled
Surprisingly gentle
I’m viscous yet humble, yeah!
I’m somehow not feral
Unsettlingly polite
And loves to kick too, baby!
And what it all comes down to
Is that everything’s gonna be fine, fine, fine
’Cause I am in this room with Iggy
And a friendly kitten whose name is Beatrix!
