Well, I am a shouty happy people tonight.

Yes, Puck, that’s a cute ornament, but not what I think of when I hear “Christmas cactus” …

I mean I wouldn’t. Look at him. He’ sa sweetie. And more of a steal than 49.95.

Also looking at the site updates coming late next year and it’s all.. REALLY good stuff. Stuff that makes binging archives (something I do try to do) WAY easier, seeming to have a better system for that and none of it seems to be making the site under a paywall like Comics Kingdom (Which I complain about a lot but it’s baffling to make what your competition offers for free 30 dollars a year.

I want that hedgehog ornament—and the owl, the cardinal, the pine cone, the pretty star—I want them ALL!

The Santa Cactus with the jingle looks like a prime kitty target for grabbing and swinging. Down goes the tree.

I just finished decorating our tree with my 40+ year collection of mouse ornaments. I have one set of 12 mouse nutcracker soldiers, but all the others are individual and many are handmade and unique. My husband and family have been adding to my collection year by year and I always enjoy seeing these every year when they come out of storage. I don’t happen to have a robber mouse ornament though. Might have to do something about that…

Congratulations to everyone in the Orb who looked at the partial image of the ornaments on Monday and said “Are those owls? Or hedgehogs?” Turns out the answer is Yes! You have good eyes (and know the Woman well).

My family has a sparkly owl ornament and has for a long time, I adore it. I love owls too. It’s become a tradition for me to hang up the owl ornament, and we all have a lot of fun decorating the tree. I wish everyone a merry christmas!!

Anyone else having trouble reading archives? I read 2015 but 2016 on up is 3 blank panels with coming soon in the last panel. I even tried from my laptop and got the same thing

We will be putting up only the fabric and other unbreakable ornaments this year to see how young Bartholomew deals with the tree.

The felt mushrooms may be shatteproof, but they are not cat-proof. I suspect those mushrooms will be turned into clusters of colorful, felt icicles in short order.

I love the cardinals and the balls that are owls and hedgehogs. Hopefully we can soon see the Las Vegas Fir in all its glory.

But I thought the cats were adverse to cacti

Peppermint candy canes are quite a colorful addition to any tree. While they will “shatter”, the shards are not considered hazardous to anything but your waistline. :)

Buy them at any drug store for cheap. Do NOT order the special ones online from Belgium at $25 for box of 5. :)

ME! I’ve seen that same face on a glass pickle ornament and said no to putting a pickle on the tree. Not about to put a cactus on the tree either.

Ah… Nothing says Christmas like the joyous sound of an unbreakable ornament in a 3 cat game of ‘(w)hacky sack’ on the hardwood floor of the hallway…

Yesterday we had a bit of a discussion of a found typo on the back of Pucky Prince of Bacon. I just want to say, we all want our babies to be perfect, but we love them with all their imperfections. Also, I read that book, and I’ve loaned it to two people, and neither of them commented on the typo, which I have not even seen since the book is still on loan. So, like our “special needs” cats, the alleged imperfection in the book is not the first or most important thing about it.
