So, how many licks DOES it take to get to the center of a ghostiepop? This time the answer aint 42, or is it? Ora Zella has no intention of finding out. She’s gonna go straight to the CRUNCH .
How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop? Or, in Ora Zella’s case, how many seconds does it take for a tortie to destroy a Tootsie Pop?
Parenthetically, I love how the Woman, being an Artist and a Mother, makes sure the Children have plenty of crafts to do. As is true in Real Life, I am sure.
Best Halloween decoration we had was when my wife made bats out of black foam balls and black paper for the wings. She then hung them from the ceiling fan. Our cats were fascinated by the bats “flying” around when we turned the fan on (using the low speed).
This might be a guess here, but I get the feeling that, based on Elvis’s dislike of everything Halloween, this isn’t really his favorite time of the year…
Lupin-‘DIE LOLLIPOPS!’ Goldie-‘But they are ghost lollipops, so they are technically already dead!’ Lupin and OZ look at each other, then shout-‘THEN LET’S KILL THEM, AGAIN!!’
That was a nice Exorcist reference made by Ora Zella. I don’t know how many of you know this, but the events that were used as the basis of the movie and book actually happened in St. Louis, at Alexian Brothers Hospital and Saint Louis University. The exorcism was conducted by William Bowden, S.J., assisted by several more Jesuits.
Years ago, I went to Saint Louis University to drink beer, carouse, and generally cause mischief…Oh, and I got a couple of degrees while I was there. One night, when I was supposed to be studying, I and several of my enablers decided to explore some of the old buildings on the campus. SLU was/is a very old school. First college west of the Mississippi, and some of its buildings, like DuBourg Hall, date back to 1888. Its never-visited top floor had little rooms where some of the original Jesuits lived and meditated. At the time, you could still occasionally find the gas jets used for lighting the building still in place in the walls. In addition, behind the Saint Francis Xavier College Church was the original Rectory where more Jesuits had lived and where part of the Excorsim took place.
I and my co-defendants were exploring some very old areas of the disused Rectory when we came to a boarded-up room. All the other rooms had doors that were simply locked, but this room had plywood covering the door and screwed into the door frame. Even though the door was inaccessible, the transom window was still there at the top of the door. Boosting each other up for a look, we pushed the transom open, only to find a small bedroom with two wooden chairs, a tiny bedside table, and an iron bed frame with a mattress. On the bed was a single wooden Crucifix, and throughout the room was about an inch of dust. We had found the room where part of the Excorsim of 1949 had occurred.
I was just so sure that one of the real ghosts was going to show up in one of the panels! Disappointed! But, also, I can’t help but wonder why the children would put cat toys up all over the place and not expect the cats to play with them!
While one battle is nearly over, is anycat prepared to defend the house and family from the LEAVES? Roy has been hard at work this sunny morning defending the home between rests in his leopard blanket to get warmed up for the next round.
Purrayers for you and his brother as you mourn this sweet kitty. Pretty sure his brother knows – and has probably “talked” to him since. He will never be forgotten.
My imagination sees the ghost kitties showing up at the end of this arc to congratulate the BCN crew, Robber Mice, and Racoons on their success, having watched the whole conflict from above. Or maybe while watching, they provide aid to Bea and Magazine in the final battle and help swing the final outcome in favor of the Demolecracy; this could carry us through to Halloween. Can’t wait to find out!

Better leave the wrapping on those lollipops, or what you’ve got there is better known as “ant bait”.
