“One small step for man.. One giant bargain for mankind!”“Come on up, and see if we can put you in slightly used late model Moon Buggy, with less that 5 miles on the clock! It was only driven to the Surveyor and back on Sunday by a little old Astronaut.”
Tell Pam it’s a chocolate bar and it’s sold. I’d like to see what happens if she manages to eat it.There was a science fiction story years ago where a couple of guys found a natural portal to the moon in an abandoned city lot. On the other side was a moon buggy. The story was about how they got the buggy to Earth through the portal using readily available items to overcome the moon’s conditions, so they could sell it.
packratjohn, ….Maybe you can tell me what the ending of 2001 is all about, You know, the dude in the room growing older, and then a huge fetus hovering over the Earth…..WTF? . I have no idea at all…. And what do the monoliths do?
I was a sci fi fan before it became popular to be one…I began reading it when it was only in pulp paper mags… so I guess I expected too much from the movie because it was, to me, the most boring movie ever made . I was so disappointed! Am I the only one thinking this??

If you turn it around, it’ll probably be Han Solo. Knowing Brewster and Cliff, it won’t matter, he’ll become Han $old !

To sell faster add some music; maybe Thus Spoke Zarathustra.

@LadyKatYes, exactly right. ‘Salvage’ (or ‘Salvage-One,’ depending on the market, and whether it was the TV-movie or the actual series).

If that black slab sends a signal to something orbiting Jupiter, watch out.

Things should be fine, as long as Rocket stays away from the Blue Area.

Oh, that’s the 2001 model. All that thing can do is make the monkeys dance.

Do we have a little nod towards Prometheus?

He has no idea what it is, yet he puts a price tag on it without consulting anyone. Smooth.
