Is it really great to know they have a voice?

Or is it wonderful to know? Or fabulous? Or marvelous?

The next question is: “How well do we meet your expectations of what an ideal company should be?” And he’ll get the same list of answers to choose from.

Of course it’s not really a Confidential Work Survey. They can trace you with your MAC address (no, it has nothing to do with Apple products). But the good news is that you won’t have said anything bad about the company.

I have seen many of these in my day. The only response we received was more work that the employees had to do to make a better work environment.

    “How’s work?” “I can’t complain.” “That’s nice.” “Not really. It’s forbidden.”

Reminds me of a Dave Barry article about Computers, where he described some message on his screen something like “Your Computer has recovered from an error and will now Shut Down”, and the prompts were “OK” and “Sure!” ㋛

Two things I want to say:

First, I originally read it as “ruining the company"!

And second, I never do online surveys.

I go driving. The sign on the side of the road says “SURVEY CREW AHEAD”

    They never ask me anything…

We had a manager who got mad because of the poor reviews he got. He told us we needed to do better on the next one.

Nobody asks how you feel about the deluge of “needy” survey nags after every conceivable service .

If things went well, don’t bother me. If things get screwed up, I will work the problem all the way up to the CEO. (I’ve done it on a several occasions.)

Most these things are now “built-in” to customer service packages. In the old days, the paper ones were weighed before being thrown away. The digital ones mostly sit around taking up corporate memory space somewhere.

My favorite anonymous company survey was back in the early 2000’s. HR was placing the surveys on everyone’s desk. One of our IT people walked by and asked for a copy so he could fill it out. The HR person said something like “hold on – let me get your survey” and consulted the sheet correlating survey numbers to employees. That told us all we needed to know about providing any real feedback on that survey.

A lot of surveys are like this. They ask you for your feedback without listening. Who knows if they even do anything productive with them in the end.
