No wonder Susie gives Calvin the wrong answers when he asks her for help.

First time I’ve ever agreed with Calvin over Susie! She really has imbibed the fruit-flavored drink. Lobotomy stitches simply HAVE to be in evidence!

You don’t make new friends at elementary school unless you change schools—otherwise you have pretty much the same people you’ve always had in your class.

Suzie’s a self starter. Calvin’s stuck in one gear.

I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than have a frontal lobotomy.

Calvin? Make new friends? New enemies maybe, but not new friends.

I always felt the same way Calvin does. Summer always went too quickly. I hated school! My brothers and I didn’t even call it school. We called it prison.

Not to be obvious, but school was many different things for many different people. Calvin’s and Susie’s conversation was pretty typical amongst kids, even today.

Calvin should have saved that line for Moe.

That fourth panel is one of the best in the entire C&H collection… IMHO.

Well said, Calvin! People (usually girls) who expressed a love of school always bothered me.

I drew pictures in class, especially in math.

It’s not the lobotomy scars in the front you should be looking for. It’s the mind control device implanted at the base of the skull, in the back, that’s the tell-tale.
