Calvin’s Mom has invented a novel version of the wedgie. The teegie? If she knotted it in back, maybe it would work as a covid mask. Ahead of the curve.
I picture Calvin the Lightning Bolt making the classic “Castle Thunder” sound effects, ala the old Universal horror movies and the older Disney and Hanna-Barbera cartoons, like this… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8EYSZP77Ag
I was about Calvin’s age when I accidently blew up the tv set during a thunderstorm. We lived out in the country and the tv had to be hooked up to an antenna in order to get any programs to come in. Anytime there was a thunderstorm we had to disconnect the tv from the antenna as it was the tallest thing for lightning to hit.(This was back in the early to mid 1970’s) Well I wanted to watch tv so I hooked the antenna back up to the tv. Lightning struck and the tv was destroyed. Our “new” tv was a floor model tube television that my parents got somewhere that had to warm up for 5 minutes before you would get a picture and had to be shut off after 2 or 3 hours to avoid overheating and having the tubes burn out. We didn’t get a modern colour tv until the late 1980’s.

Does he have any built-in circuit breakers to stop him from wanton destruction???

At this time, Calvin could at least have the classic Nintendo to pass the time.

How can Calvin “play a board game” unless Mom or Dad plays with him? You can’t play checkers by yourself, I’ve tried.

Play a board game? He’ll only have Hobbes to play with. And Hobbes cheats.

Ha ha! What a precocious little boy. My mother never let me play with hand saws inside, either!
